Tummy Thyme Reviews

Tummy Thyme was started by a young mom who wanted easy, healthy, and delicious food options for her toddler. Knowing that commercially produced foods tend to contain preservatives and additives that are not of the standard many want for their children and that they often have a limited range of ingredients and flavors Tummy Thyme set out to give busy moms healthier, tastier options for their kids, helping babies and toddlers develop a love for nutritious and flavorful foods.

Tummy Thyme offers food for both babies and toddlers. The baby food is shipped frozen in small, individually sized containers that are perfect for scooping and serving your baby. These foods are for little ones who still need help eating and are best when eaten with a spoon.

Tummy Thyme finger food is a great option for toddlers and independent eaters. From five spice sweet potato and carrot pancakes to grass-fed beef and ricotta meatballs, there are great choices for kids 12 months and older.

All of the foods that Tummy Thyme creates are USDA Certified Organic and are fresh-frozen to lock in important vitamins and minerals without the need for preservatives. They are made with fresh ripe produce and are curated to meet the nutritional needs of babies and toddlers.

The menu includes foods with different textures and flavors so the little ones get accustomed to exploring new foods.  From chunky purees to flakey pastry bites, your kids will never grow tired of the interesting, exciting options.

For our Tummy Thyme reviews, we received the Blueberry & Apple Kefir Muffins, Butternut Squash Mac N’Peas, Chicken Mushroom Oregano Bites, and the Baked Chicken and Veg Puffed Pastry Bites.

We gave a few of Tummy Thyme’s best products a try, serving them both to adults and toddlers! Here is a little bit about what we thought.

Blueberry & Apple Kefir Muffins

Kefir is a type of yogurt with lots of probiotics great for keeping young bellies healthy.  Blueberries and apples are both full of vitamins and minerals and also natural sugars which add a natural sweetness to these muffins. We were excited to give these muffins a try with a touch of ginger and a hint of nutmeg!

The muffins were packaged all together in a bag. They were about 3 inches long by 1 ½ inches wide, like a mini loaf of bread. We opted to use the microwave instructions to heat the muffins. The flavor of the muffins was very good. There were lots of blueberries in each one. The center of the muffins was a little dry so we sliced them in half and spread a little butter on each piece.

The muffins were a tasty snack and all of the kids ate them right up!

PRICE: $15.50 for 6 muffins

Butternut Squash Mac N’ Peas

Tummy Thyme butternut squash mac and peas put a healthy twist on the classic mac and cheese that all kids love. There are organic peas and butternut squash hidden in the cheesy sauce! The meal is rich in protein, iron, and calcium making it perfect for growing kids.

We once again used the microwave to heat the small cup of frozen mac n peas. After heating and stirring, the noodles were a little mashed and broken so it was hard to serve a toddler as a “finger food”. A spoon or fork was definitely needed! The cheese sauce looked and tasted just like “regular” mac and cheese. It had a nice cheesy taste and you couldn’t tell there were veggies in it at all.

This is a perfect option for picky eaters who don’t like to eat a lot of veggies. It is tasty, nutritious, and looks like classic mac and cheese.

PRICE: $15.50 for 3 four-ounce tubs (one tub is a good size for a young toddler)

Chicken Mushroom Oregano Bites

Organic chicken, mushrooms, carrots, and zucchini are mixed with spices and formed into small, round bites. These veggie nuggets are great for toddlers who like to eat independently and enjoy finger food. The multiple herbs and spices make it a great meal for exploring new flavors.

We heated these little bites in the microwave and they were ready to eat in just a few seconds. There were 5 chicken bites in each pack and each one was about 1 ½ inches wide. They were easy for a one-year-old to pick up and eat on their own. You could see the pieces of carrots and chicken so they had a slightly chunky texture.

Great for older eaters especially those who already like “nuggets” and need a healthier option.

PRICE: $16.50 for 3 containers, each containing 5 chicken bites

Baked Chicken and Veg Puff Pastry Bites

Organic veggies and organic chicken are mixed into a tasty filling and then wrapped in flakey puff pastry. The little rolls are a great, complete meal to serve older eaters. Younger toddlers will enjoy them, and the flakey texture will be easy to chew even with fewer teeth!

We really enjoyed these puffy pastry bites. They were a very easy meal to serve in a hurry. With all the veggies and healthy lean protein inside, we felt good about giving them to our kids! The pack comes with 6 bites, each one about 4 inches by two inches. Our one-year-old ate two of the bites as his whole dinner.

Definitely would recommend these flavorful, buttery bites for even the pickiest eaters.

PRICE: $16.50 for 6 bites

Overall, we were pretty happy with our Tummy Thyme food. There were some great, easy meal options that made breakfast and dinner go a lot smoother. The flavors were unique and much more exciting than other baby foods on the market.

Enjoying spices like oregano, thyme, and garlic will help create kids that are willing to try anything and not “afraid” of flavor. Each dish was unique and fun to make and eat.

Tummy Thyme Reviews: Bottom Line

tummy-thyme-box-of-baby-and-toddler-food-mealfinds

Tummy Thyme delivers organic hand-crafted baby food and toddler meals directly to your door. Their high-quality meals will help your little ones explore new flavors and textures while eating delicious, healthy foods.

We really liked the interesting flavors of Tummy Thyme food. There were lots of spices and herbs which isn’t always prevalent in toddler food. We also love that each dish was nutritionally balanced. All of the foods we tried were very easy to prepare and ready to eat in 2-3 minutes. They are fantastic for quick, healthy meal options.

Although we loved that Tummy Thyme foods are made with organic ingredients and taste great, their baby food is at the higher end for price, especially when you consider the shipping charges and minimum order requirements. In addition, we do wish there were more meal options, especially for babies. It would be easier to fill a large subscription box if there were more choices.

When compared to most grocery store baby and toddler foods, Tummy Thyme is more nutritious with more interesting flavor and texture combinations. The company is not afraid to add flavor to baby food while many mainstream brands stick to bland, basic foods. Giving young kids a wide variety of flavors helps them become better eaters later in life. We really enjoyed that Tummy Thyme also believes in feeding babies and toddlers exciting foods.

We would definitely recommend Tummy Thyme to any busy families who want to ensure their kids are eating nutritious, well-made foods.

Enjoy!
